Concept of Asia-Pacific Conference on Building Commissioning (APCBC) |
|
|
Background: |
|
|
Asia-pacific world contains both advanced and fast
developing countries that may determine the fate of the earth in view of
energy source and global warming. It goes without saying that building and
urban energy consumption mainly owes to building services systems putting
HVAC at the top. The HVAC commissioning, or building commissioning, has been
discussed and practiced in the United States and some other countries since
1980s, while efforts to form the international consensus have been made
since 1990s at Annexes of IEA/ECBCS. |
|
|
Kick-off |
|
|
It was thus recognized that building commissioning system
should be recognized and adopted as realistic process for realizing energy
conservation for both new buildings and existing buildings among
Asia-pacific countries, Building Services Commissioning Association (BSCA)
of Japan and Hong Kong Building Commissioning Center have brought up the
idea of APCBC for years and with the agreement of ICEBO organizer,
IEA/Annex47 people and some other researchers and practical engineers in
Asian countries, the first APCBC was held in Shenzhen, China, |
|
|
Principle of Organization |
|
|
APCBC will be held every two years, in principle, either
independently or in conjunction with other international meeting on
commissioning such as IEA/Annex, ICEBO, NCBC, and so on. Additional meeting
other than every-two-years-meeting may be held when requested by these
commissioning-related conference bodies closely connected with BSCA, which
may be called workshop, seminar, panel discussion or forum depending upon
the scale and characteristics of the meeting. BSCA, Building Services
Commissioning Association, Japan, will take a leading role in cooperation
with HKBCxC, Hong Kong Building Commissioning Center. Other bodies may take
a leading role after the APCBC becomes popular. |
